So the kids got a dollar each from their Grandma Anne and their Grandma Christenson for Valentines Day. We took them to the dollar store and let them each pick out two things. Gideon got a couple of Speed Racer cars and Eden and Larke both got a Helium ballon along with a puzzle and a ball. Anyway the picture above is what Eden did with the string of her balloon on the way home in the car. She also had it wrapped around the seat belt in the car so Matt cut that part of the string before we could bring her into the house. Nice isn't it. She got a very stern talking to about wrapping things around her neck. Hopefully she listened.

The Zoo
I had the funnest trip to the zoo today with just me and the kids. Gideon was so interested in all the animals and wanted to know what all the plaques said. His favorites today were the giraffes and the Rhinos. He was very fun. Eden was so cute. We got to the elephants and Eden yells "Elephants, it's me, Eden!" twice at them. I couldn't tell her to stop yelling at the elephants because I was laughing too much. Larke was good and had fun too. I think her favorite was looking at all of the fish. It was a good day.

Kids are so Silly
So I thought I would do a post about some of the funny things the kids have been doing lately. Larke I guess is the one that has been just cracking me up. This morning she obviously was sticking pretzels up her nose. On Sunday she said to me during a prayer "Wake up, Mom" and then after Gideon and Eden both bore their testimony on Sunday she said "I want to talk" and proceeded to work her way up to the stairs. Thankfully the stairs are as far as she got. She is talking so much which has been fun. She dresses up all the time now since that is what Eden does. She dances around with Eden all the time and she loves the color pink.
Last night Gideon came up to me and said "So you know how I went to bear my testimony and I said Hi I'm Gideon Jones and everyone laughed. I didn't like that." I felt so bad because I could tell he didn't know what to do when it had happened the day before. Although everyone was laughing because it was just so cute and confident, it sucked the confidence right out of him to hear people laugh. I thought he was going to come down crying, but he paused for a moment looked scared and carried on. My poor boy, that may be the last time he bears his testimony for a while. He was so brave.
Eden has been saying the funniest prayers lately. She prays for everyone to be thankful for their bodies and then individually mentions all of our names. Then she will pray for Gideon to stop crying (both Eden and Gideon cry when it is not their turn to say prayer) and for Larke to be reverant since Larke is usually making some sort of noise during prayer. A few weeks ago I went to a work party with Matt and I got all dressed up in my black dress and straightened my hair. I looked nice which doesn't happen all that often. I came down the stairs and Eden gasped, ran to me, and said Oh Mom you look so beautiful. Then she burst into tears and said "I want to go to the party". I consoled her and after a few minutes she was over her disappointment and said "Mom you need a necklace. Let's go upstairs and get you one." So we proceeded to go upstairs to pick out a necklace for me which I took off in the car since it didn't really match my dress. She is just so cute with all of her accessorizing.
I love these crazy sweet kids.

I Want My Baby Back
Matt's second birthday dinner.
Gideon took this one of himself, obviously.
Gideon had to take pictures of everyone enjoying the food.

The whole shabang. All the things Matt wanted for dinner. Ribs, cole slaw, corn on the cob, baked beans, homemade potato rolls with honey butter.

So as you can see we had some good eating on Sunday. Matt already got to have steak for his birthday, but these ribs were on sale and he decided that he needed another birthday dinner. Eden was very wary about the ribs, but ended up loving to eat the meat off the bones and kept asking for more. Corn on the cob is not cheap this time of year, but Matt really wanted some to go along with dinner. The potato rolls were yummy as always, but thanks to Karri Frank who gave me the recipe, we had some awesome honey butter to go along with them. Matt added cinnamon to the recipe which was also very good.
Matt had a good birthday. He wasn't feeling the best that day, but we still had some fun. The kids gave him an Indiana Jones Potato Head. He also got Lips and Your In The Movies for the XBOX. Both have been fun to play. We did Your In The Movies with the kids last night for Family Home Evening. They had a blast and were so fun to watch. The game uses a web cam to take shots of you doing different things and then edits it into different 3 minute movies. It was a blast. Happy Birthday Matt. We all love you tons.
