Fireworks Rock!

I love the 4th of July!  It is one of my favorite holidays.  We started out the day with a Ward Church activity that we did a lot for.  It was busy but oh so fun.  Pulled pork sandwiches, American History Jeopardy with Matt dressed up like Alex Trebeck, relay games for the kids and a massive water balloon fight where I successfully got at least 12 people wet including the Bishop.  There is nothing better.  It really was a lot of fun.  Plus we got to have M'Recia and Brent there which made it even more fun.  We had a quiet afternoon and then LeAnn and Eric came with cousins and more fun, good food and games.  The fireworks show was awesome and Matt always makes sure to have glow necklaces for the kids and treats for us all.  This year while we waited we had Angel Food Cake with strawberries and Whip Cream.  Yummy!  Then everyone got an extra shot of whip cream in their mouths because who doesn't like to shoot whip cream into their mouths really.  It was a great time.  I love my family so much.

Spontaneous Tea Parties

Ever since Eden made me a tea party hat like this in Kindergarden she has wanted one of her very own.  So we finally made 4 in one day.  Then the girls proceeded to have a Tea Party and make funny faces at me.  Camryn was the real instigator in this.  She wanted a mad face, a happy face, a sad face.  It was a lot of fun and not as much mess as I thought it would be.

Duck Races

I've wanted to take the kids to a duck race for a few months, you know to feed Larke's ever increasing love of duckies.  This was in Boulder on Memorial Day.  It was nice to just spend the day together as a family.  We enjoyed cheering for the ducks and watching people try to stand up in the spinning balls.  We played at a small playground and had a picnic dinner.  It was great fun.

Field Day 2012

This year for field day I was in charge of the Sponge Bob event and got to get all the kids wet.  I had Larke and Rush with me all day and they really were very good considering.  The grandma lady at the next event over let Rush and Larke play in the baby pool in between kids and I probably would have gone crazy without her.  The kids all had a great time this year winning ribbons and generally frolicking.
